Mrs. Janet Wesenberg was born June 2, 1953 in Dearborn Michigan (a suburb of Detroit) to Leslie and Augusta Hill. She is the 4th of 5 children. Her family attended St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wayne, Michigan where Mrs. Wesenberg attended school. Her high school years were spent in Saginaw, Michigan at Michigan Lutheran Seminary, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod's (WELS) school that prepares young men and women to become pastors and teachers. Graduation led her to Martin Luther College (MLC) in New Ulm, Minnesota to continue her preparation to become a Christian teacher.
While at MLC, Mrs. Wesenberg met her husband John. After graduation, Janet and John were married on June 27, 1975. John received his call to teach at Garden Homes, and Janet received a call to teach at Siloah. After teaching 4 years at Siloah, Mrs. Wesenberg received a call to Garden Homes and taught at GHLS for 2 years before the Lord blessed the Wesenbergs with a son. John and Janet were then blessed with 3 girls and another son.
While being a wife and mother, Janet also had various jobs. One that John and she felt very blessed to have was that of being foster parents to newborns.
Mrs. Wesenberg says, "I enjoy spending time with John, my children and grandchildren. I also enjoy camping, sewing and sharing the love of Jesus with everyone at Garden Homes and in the community."
