Starting School Stats
After the first three weeks of school, Garden Homes is blessed to have 276 students and enjoying a terrific 95.6% attendance average. In addition, over 97% of all homework assignments have been turned in on time. Parents, keep up the great work on getting your students to school on time and their homework completed!
Grade 5 Classroom Spotlight
Fifth grade is starting the new year with much excitement! They have been working on transitioning into middle school. With the new year, they have been working on different projects in their classes. In science, they are studying the solar system and different planets. In ELA, they are starting their National Parks research project. They sent their letters to their National Parks and are waiting to hear back. We are looking forward to our first field trip to the Milwaukee Public Museum at the end of the month.
Grade 2 Classroom Spotlight
Second grade is off and running and doing an amazing job. We were awarded a flag at chapel for showing self-discipline last week. We were also able to attend our first field trip of the year at Bookworm Gardens in Sheboygan. Our class really enjoyed exploring small gardens based on different characters from popular children's books.
Chapel & Mission Offerings
At the end of each week, Garden Homes holds a chapel service led by one of the school staff. This is an opportunity for students to worship with their voices and hear the good news of Jesus. Students are also encouraged to bring a free will offering. This semester our offerings will be going to help the establishment of a new mission in Senegal. Our progress is tracked on a bulletin board by the main office.
