Christmas Program & Christmas Spirit Wear Days:

The annual, student led Christmas Program will be on Thursday, December 18^th beginning at 2:15PM.  The gym entrance doors will be open at 2:00PM for all guests.  This year’s program is entitled “Who is He?” and retells the story of our Savior’s birth from the first promise of a Messiah in the Garden of Eden through his birth in Bethlehem.  Our students are looking forward to sharing the good news of Jesus with you through recitation and song.

To celebrate the Christmas season, K3-8 are invited to participate in Christmas Spirit Wear days all next week:

·       Monday: Christmas Colors Dress Down Day – Come dressed in your favorite red and green attire.

·       Tuesday: Christmas Sweater Dress Down Day – Whether its ugly, funny, cute, or traditional, wear your favorite holiday sweaters.

·       Wednesday: Christmas Accessory Day Dress Down Day – Santa hats, reindeer ears, Christmas light necklaces, candy cane bows, and all your favorite Christmas accessories are welcome.  Teachers may ask that an item be put aside during class time if it distracts others.

·       Thursday: Christmas Program Dress UP Day – Wear your very best Christmas outfit for the Program

·       Friday: Comfy Clothes Dress Down Day – Put on your favorite lounge wear for the last school day of 2025.

Please, note that next week we will be serving nachos on Tuesday and chicken nuggets on Thursday.  The original menus sent home had this reversed.  The most current menus can be found under the resources tab on the Garden Homes Lutheran School website (www.gardenhomeslutheran.org).

Middle School Social Studies Classroom Spotlight – Mr. Kroll

“Recently 7th grade learned about the growth of America as a world power in the 1890's and early 1900's. In the process of learning of the United States' war against Spain and in the Philippines, we also took time to discuss Benjamin O'Davis Sr., an African American who fought first in the Spanish-American War, then in the Philippines, and later in WWI and would later become the first Black brigadier general in the U.S Army.”

Worship Invitation and Schedule at Garden Homes Luth. Church

Garden Homes Lutheran Church invites you to several worship and fellowship opportunities during the holiday season.  The final Advent meal will be held on Wednesday, December 17th at 5:00PM with worship at 6:00PM.  On Christmas Eve, caroling and worship will begin at 6:00PM.  The Christmas Day worship service begins at 9:00AM.  The New Year’s Eve service is at 6:00PM.  All are welcome to join us as we close out another calendar year and reflect on the great goodness of God and the wonderful hope we have through faith in his Son Jesus.
