Lent Worship Opportunity at Garden Homes Lutheran Church:
Lent is a sacred season of reflection, repentance, and renewal as we prepare our hearts for Easter and the resurrection of our Savior. You are invited to join us for Lenten worship each Wednesday night leading up to Easter. A complimentary fellowship supper will be served in the school cafeteria at 5:00PM. The GHLS student council will be hosting a special fish fry on March 19th. The Lent worship service follows the meal at 6:00PM in the church. Join us as we seek to grow closer to our God and Savior.
Annual State Forward Exam Testing Begins Soon:
During the 2015-16 school year, Wisconsin rolled out an assessment called the Wisconsin Forward Exam. The exam is designed to gauge how well students are doing relative to the recently updated Wisconsin Academic Standards. These standards outline what students should know and be able to do in order to be on track for future learning. The Forward Exam is administered in the spring of each school year at:
grades 3-8 in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics,
grades 4 and 8 in Science and Social Studies
Track Season Beginning
Lace up your shoes athletes in grades 5-8! The track season will begin after Spring Break the week of March 31. Students will train to compete in individual races, relays, and field events at the annual track meet hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran High School. Look for more information and how to sign up to come home soon.
Blood Drive at GHLS
Garden Homes is again partnering with Versiti Blood Centers to promote awareness of the life saving power of blood donations. On Friday, April 11th, Versiti nurses will be on site to accept donors. For those willing to make this vital contribution, an online reservation system has been set up. Use the QR code to participate. Thank you for considering becoming a blood donor today.
