Operation Christmas Child Service Project 2025:

Now through November 21, students are encouraged to donate new toys, school supplies, hygiene items, and other small gifts for our Operation Christmas Child gift drive.  This program delivers shoeboxes full of Christmas presents to needy children all over the world.  Each child is also given the good news that Jesus is their Savior.

Our students will be packing the provided shoeboxes together in their classrooms. Please, consider donating to this important cause.  Some gift ideas include stuffed animals, dolls, toothbrushes, hairbrush, markers, bead kits, & sunglasses.  The top three classes with the most boxes will earn a Fun Friday party.

Grade 4 Classroom Spotlight – Mr. Tomhave

The fourth graders at Garden Homes have spent the past two weeks working on a play in reading class called “Ranita, the Frog Princess.” They’ve been learning how to bring characters to life using only their voices and how to read with expression and inflection. One of the highlights has been deciding as a class who will get to play each of the characters in our stories that day. We have some aspiring actors in the room!

All this practice with performing has helped prepare us for another exciting event this month. We’ll be joining the 1st and 2nd grade students on a trip to Concordia University to watch the play Madagascar. Everyone is filled with eager anticipation to see a college-level performance!

Winter Weather – School Closure Notices

In the event of a severe weather event that could delay or close school, we will post on Fox 6 News and TMJ4 websites, as well as send a text message and email directly to the numbers and addresses on file.  Know that Garden Homes makes delay and closure decisions independently of MPS taking in consideration the safety of our specific school community.

Grade K4 Classroom Spotlight – Mrs. Burton

K4 had lots of fun celebrating our Harvest Party with K3 and K5! We played Pin the Nose on the Scarecrow, enjoyed Musical Chairs, painted colorful pinecones, and listened to a special Storytime. Everyone loved having popcorn for a snack, and K4 especially enjoyed visiting the other classrooms. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the season together!
