Black History Month Family Art Night
A family art night is scheduled for February 19th starting at 4:00PM. There will be two separate art sessions taking place that night. An all-ages collaborative art project will be created in the gym highlighting famous African-American leaders. Light refreshments will be available. For our middle school students, an art instructor in the 7th grade classroom will take you step by step to create your own canvas painting that you can take home. Space is limited for the middle school session, so look for the sign up to RSVP to come home soon.
Classroom Spotlight – Grade 2
Second grade has been busy learning and working hard each day! In social studies, we are learning about the impact Harriet Tubman had on slavery and how her bravery helped many people gain freedom. In Phy Ed, we are learning the basics of hockey, practicing coordination, teamwork, and having lots of fun staying active. In science, we are exploring landforms and water, learning how features like rivers, lakes, and mountains shape our world. It’s been exciting to see the students engaged, curious, and proud of their learning across all subjects

Classroom Spotlight – Grade 6
The 6th graders have just finished up reading Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. Throughout our novel study, we focused on comprehension skills, sequencing, and summarizing. As we were reading the book, we were able to compare and contrast the text to the different film variations. Additionally, we got to explore many different aspects of Ancient Greek mythology. One of the culminating activities that students are currently completing is a mini presentation packet on one of the ancient gods/goddesses of their choosing. It has been a blessing to enjoy this book with my students!
