Advent Services and Soup Dinners
The Christmas season is upon us and to help prepare our hearts for celebrating our Savior’s birth, Garden Homes Lutheran Church will be having mid-week Advent services. The first Advent service is tonight, Wednesday, December 6th, starting at 6:00pm. There are also Advent services on Wednesday, December 13th, and Wednesday, December 20th. Before each Advent service there is always a soup supper served in the cafeteria from 5:00pm to 6:00pm. Tonight, December 6th, the GHLS student council will be serving soup supper. We would love to see you there.
Join Us Tomorrow!
Tomorrow, Thursday, December 7th, we will be hosting a Christmas Craft Night in the gym for all parents and students. The event will run from 3:30pm – 5:00pm. There are many crafts ready for parents to create with their children. All projects created can be taken home and displayed this holiday season. There will also be some treats available at the event. All students attending must be accompanied by a parent. We hope to see many of you there.
Virtual Day
This Friday, December 8th, there is no in-person classes. Students will come home on Thursday with directions on what they are to complete during the virtual day.
Don’t Forget! (2 Important Dates)
First, the children will be singing in church on Sunday, December 17th, at 9:00am. Students should arrive at 8:40am and go to their classrooms.
Second, the students have been hard at work learning their parts for the Children’s Christmas Program. The program will be on Thursday, December 21st, at 2:15pm.
Coffee and Treats
The GHLS student council is organizing a coffee and treats morning for parents on the morning of Wednesday, December 20th, from 7:15am to 8:00am. When you drop your child(ren) off for school, stop in the front lobby and the student council members will make you a free coffee. As part of their fundraising effort, they will also have some Christmas themed treats for sale if you would like to purchase one or a few.
Upcoming Dress Down Day and Spirit Wear Days
There are a few dress down days coming up in the month of December. On Friday, December 15th, we will be having a normal dress down day. Wednesday, December 20th, will be “Anything Christmas” day. Thursday, December 21st, will be “Dress to Impress” day for the Christmas program. More information and reminders will be sent home as the days approach.
