Starting School Stats:

After the first three weeks of school, Garden Homes is blessed to have 274 students in Grades K4-8  and enjoying a terrific 96.1% attendance average.  In addition, over 96.9% of all homework assignments have been turned in on time.  Parents, keep up the great work on getting your students to school on time and their homework completed!

M.A.P. Testing Begins

As we settle into the fall routine, students across all grade levels will begin preparing for our upcoming benchmark assessments. GHLS utilizes Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) growth assessments to track progress in core subjects and guide classroom instruction. Please ensure your child gets plenty of rest each night, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time each day.

Grandparents Day in K4 & K5

We are excited to invite all K4 and K5 grandparents to join us for a special Grandparents Day celebration on Friday, September 11, from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM! Our youngest learners are eager to welcome their grandparents into the classroom for a fun afternoon of activities, sharing, and fellowship. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions.

Fall Athletics Kickoff: Volleyball & Soccer

Our sports seasons are officially underway! Wish the best to our student-athletes as Girls' Volleyball and Co-Ed Soccer games begin this week. Come out and show your Viking pride in the stands—schedules are posted on our website. Go Vikings!

Grade 2 Classroom Spotlight – Ms. Ernst

Second grade is off to a wonderful start! We have been busy settling into our routines, becoming more independent, trying new things, and learning how to work together as a class. The students are especially excited to dive into science this year as we explore, investigate, and learn more about the amazing world God created for us to enjoy. We look forward to learning in all other subject areas as well.

Grade 5 Classroom Spotlight – Mrs. Knueppel

Fifth grade is off to an awesome start! We have already aced our first grammar and math tests. In social studies, we kicked off the year by studying early Native Americans. The students even began designing their own totem poles to illustrate the important people and events in their lives. Be sure to check them out in the hallway soon! We look forward to keeping up this hard work and momentum all year long.
