Family Karaoke Night

Get ready to warm up those vocal cords and step into the spotlight! You are invited to the GHLS Family Karaoke Night, an evening dedicated to music, laughter, and school spirit. This isn't just for the students - we want to see the whole family involved! Sing your favorite hits in a supportive, family-friendly atmosphere.  Even if you aren't singing, come join our "Crowd Engagement Team" to cheer, clap, and support our brave performers. Return your RSVP slip by Wednesday 5/13. We can’t wait to see the incredible talent our GHLS families have to offer.

·       When: Friday May 15^th, 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM

·       Where: School gym

·       Submit song requests with your RSVP slip or select from a list at the welcome table.

·       To ensure everyone has a great time, we ask that all songs remain "clean" and respectful.

Forensic Festival Results

We had three students represent Garden Homes at the 5th & 6th grade forensics festival at WISCO on April 25th. Laila competed in Storytelling with her own story about Goldilocks and Red Riding Hood. Demarre competed in Solo Acting with his version of The Three Little Pigs. And Princeton competed in Radio Speaking with a newscast of current events. They all earned red ribbons for their performances!

Classroom Spotlight – Grade 7 & 8 – Mrs. Kroll

Seventh and Eighth graders are using the reading and writing skills they've been building throughout the school year to tackle novels for the month of May. Seventh grade is reading, Esperanza Rising, a novel about a girl who must move to America from Mexico with her mother after a family tragedy. They arrive in America during the Great Depression and struggle as immigrant farm workers in California. Eighth grade is reading, To Kill a Mockingbird, a novel set in 1930s Alabama told from the point of view of a girl whose father agrees to defend a falsely accused man amidst a backdrop of discrimination.
