Classroom Spotlight – Grade 1 – Mrs. Bryant:
Our first graders have been learning about the importance of family while reading the story of Ruth from the Bible. Through this story, students discussed how Ruth showed love, loyalty, and care for her family. We talked about how families support one another and why those relationships are so special.
To help make this lesson more meaningful, students were invited to bring in family photos to share with the class. It was wonderful to see the pride and excitement on their faces as they talked about the people who are important to them. Each student had the opportunity to tell the class a little about their family.
This activity helped us celebrate the unique families that make up our classroom community. Everyone did a fantastic job sharing and listening respectfully!

Wisconsin Forward Exams Beginning
The Wisconsin Forward Exam is designed to gauge how well students are doing relative to the recently updated Wisconsin Academic Standards. These standards outline what students should know and be able to do to be on track for future learning.
The Forward Exam is administered in the spring of each school year in grades 3-8 in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics, and grades 4 and 8 in Science and Social Studies
Encourage your student to do their very best! These results, along with MAP scores and report cards, impact high school admissions at many local schools.
Classroom Spotlight – Grade 8 – Mr. Brown
With basketball season wrapping up, the 8th grade class helped in the Garden Homes basketball pep rally as we wished our girls basketball team good luck at the state tournament.
In February, the 8th graders also attended a field trip with the 7th grade to a Milwaukee Wave indoor soccer game. It was an exciting match with a total of 16 goals scored!
With graduation around the corner, the 8th graders have also begun working on their graduation memory boards. Students are collecting photos and memories from their time at Garden Homes as they prepare to celebrate the end of their schooling at G-House.
