First Quarter Report Card Conferences:
First Quarter Report Card Conferences will take place later this month. These conferences provide a good opportunity to discuss your child’s academic achievement, social growth, and goals for the remainder of the school year.
Dates: Thursday, October 22 3:30PM-7:00PM & Friday, October 23, 7:00AM-10:00AM
Look for sign-up sheets coming home in student folders on October 12.
High School Exploration: Luther Prep Visit
Our 7th and 8th-grade students had the privilege of hosting Professor Glisper from Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin. Students learned about what life is like at Luther Prep, including their academic programs, campus ministry, fine arts, athletic opportunities, and high school boarding option. As our upperclassmen begin looking ahead toward their future educational journeys, this presentation provided an inspiring glimpse into Christian high school preparation and leadership opportunities.
GHLS Culture Building Class Competition
We are excited to share the progress of our GHLS Class Competition that encourages servant leadership, stewardship, and teamwork! Grade levels are paired into collaborative teams (K4 & 4th, K5 & 5th, 1st & 6th, 2nd & 7th, and 3rd & 8th) to earn a maximum of 25 weekly points for daily responsibilities—such as punctual attendance, perfect uniforms, homework completion, and positive habits. Teams also share joint activities like service projects, reading buddies, and shared recess, with top teams earning a fun reward day each quarter to celebrate their teamwork! Currently the K4 & 4th Grade “Phoenix” are in first place with 216 points. “P-H-O-E-N-I-X! Blue Phoenix, do your best! Phoenix strong, Phoenix proud—Fly up high and shout it loud!”
Reminders & Office Notes
Uniform Policy: As the autumn weather cools down, please ensure all sweaters, jackets, and outerwear worn in class meet the GHLS dress code guidelines. Winter boots can be worn to and from school, but students must change into their dress shoes during class.
Picture Retake Date: Retake day will be Friday, November 13. A previous calendar was published with the wrong date (October 28).
