Starting School Stats
After the first three weeks of school, Garden Homes is blessed to have 285 students and enjoying a terrific 94.7% attendance average. In addition, over 96.9% of all homework assignments have been turned in on time. Parents, keep up the great work on getting your students to school on time and their homework completed!
M.A.P. Testing Begins
Students are gearing up to take the Fall MAP tests over the next few weeks. GHLS utilizes the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing platform to gauge student growth and progress in core subject areas. The results of these individualized assessments inform our curriculum and teaching emphasis throughout the year. Encourage your student to get enough sleep, eat well, and do their very best!
Grade 2 Classroom Spotlight – Ms. Ernst
Second grade is off to a great start as students settle into their back-to-school routines! They are already practicing addition strategies, learning how to ask and answer thoughtful questions, and even beginning to explore the steps of the scientific method. It’s exciting to see their curiosity and problem-solving skills growing each day as we build strong habits for a successful year of learning!
Chapel & Mission Offerings
At the end of each week, Garden Homes holds a chapel service led by one of the school staff. This is an opportunity for students to sing praises and hear the good news of Jesus. Students are also encouraged to bring a free will offering. This semester our offerings will be going to help the Lighthouse Youth Center Ministries.
Grade 5 Classroom Spotlight – Mrs. Knueppel
The fifth grade has been starting the year strong and learning the new routines of being departmentalized. Many of us have enjoyed getting involved in soccer and volleyball. We have personalized our cubbies with name tags to make our classroom unique. We are looking forward to continuing the year strong!
